For seasoned collectors and regular readers, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 “Freshwater” should need no introduction. Not only is this a key part of the greatest signature baseball line of all time, but Nike brings this particular do-up back every few years, with the last sighting coming in 2021. This is one of two original colorways carrying the “Freshwater” name, joined by the equally ubiquitous black and teal arrangement (which returned just last year). The sneaker is identical to the 2021 drop, SKU and all. While we’re glad to see Griffey’s name in the headlines, we’re also hoping (as we imagine many of you are) that Nike will eventually crack open the vault and bring back some of the MLB Hall of Famer’s other shoes. We’ll take what we can get, I guess.
