Air Jordan 4 “Birds of Paradise” — Quick Facts

Early mockups circulating online are inaccurate. The real shoe features a tropical multi-color outsole with semi-translucent Bright Mango and Sundial placements, pebbled leather upper, suede toe and backtab, and semi-translucent TPU flaps. A custom tropical plant shoebox is also included.

Here’s your daily reminder to be wary of sneaker mockups. Early images of the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Birds of Paradise” have surfaced, showing a drastically different design than the speculative images that have been floating around in the sneaker’s lead-up.

Current search results for the “Birds of Paradise” 4s show a beige leather sneaker with gold and pink accents, including mockups and fakes created blindly using the known palette of “Coconut Milk/Metallic Gold/Muslin/Bright Mango/Sundial/Black.” In reality, the defining feature is a tropical multi-color outsole featuring semi-translucent Bright Mango and Sundial placements. The backtab features a Metallic Gold Jumpman logo, while the remaining neutral hues inform the rest of the design. The toe, backtab, and tongue label appear in suede, the upper in pebbled leather, and the flaps and eyestays in semi-translucent TPU, as opposed to leather in the mockups. Rounding things out is a custom shoebox featuring illustrations of tropical plants.
