Andrew Rizzo New Balance’s lineup of Made in USA styles for Spring/Summer 2026 comes to a close with a vibrant pair we can’t help but liken to TV’s most rambunctious 10-year-old.
Shown here is the New Balance 990v4 “Urgent Red/Maize/Afterglow,” though we prefer “Bart Simpson” given the shoe’s obvious tie to the cartoon character’s clothes and yellow skin. We’re immediately reminded of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Bart Simpson” from 2022, although neither shoes are official collaborations by any stretch. The Bart cosplay is too on-point to chalk up entirely to coincidence, marking a rather uncharacteristic break from New Balance Made in USA’s traditional reliance on muted colorways. The material mix stays traditional, led by suede overlays, leather underlays, and breathable mesh across the base.
