By all accounts, the Caitlin Clark x Nike Kobe footwear era has come to a close. A “Scrabble” inspired pair of the Nike Kobe 5 capped off an already-legendary run of PE-to-public pairs across the 5 and 6. First, the Kobe 5 suited up in game-accurate “Fever” colors before an icier edition of the Kobe 6 and a “Rookie of the Year” Kobe V hit the shelves. Yet even if the next Caitlin Clark shoes that consumers can get their hands on will be her own signature design, evidently she’s still got more in the tank.

Flipping the script, the Indiana Fever social team gave #22 an assist in debuting this design. Shots from practice showcase this frigid style, almost echoing said VI with light blue foundations, vibrant synthetic overlays, and royal blue interplay centered on the collar and Sheath logo. As the Fever confirm, this is carries “Midwest Lakes” inspirations at its center, harkening to the period before she became an Iowa legend and was just a girl from the central US locale; local favorites like Okoboji, Spirit Lake, or Lake McBride, all a stone’s throw from her native Des Moines, may have led to the constellation of ceruleans in use here.
