With New York holding a 2-0 series lead and the NBA Finals returning to Madison Square Garden for the first time since 1999, Jordan Brand clearly understands the significance of the moment.
The one-of-one Air Jordan 3 arrives dressed in a split-color execution inspired by the Spike’s favorite team. The left shoe features a royal blue upper while the right opts for bright orange, with mismatched blue and orange laces continuing the theme. Orange elephant print wraps both shoes, while the iconic Mars Blackmon logo appears at the heel in place of traditional Nike Air or Jumpman branding.
The commemorative details extend beyond the footwear itself. Jordan Brand also created a custom shoe box featuring New York Knicks branding, further emphasizing the importance of the occasion. Like the Air Jordan 3 PE itself, the packaging was designed specifically for Lee and will not be made available to the public.
Given Lee’s longstanding connection to both the Knicks and Jordan Brand, this special PE is just another bit of good fortune towards the NY franchise. For decades, the filmmaker has occupied the same court-side seat at Madison Square Garden while simultaneously helping shape basketball and sneaker culture through his portrayal of Mars Blackmon in Nike’s iconic Air Jordan advertising campaigns.
