We’re just a small piece of what’s been a city-wide moment of exaltation as our hometown New York Knicks brought home the Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time in over half a century. Speaking to just how deep the connection between fan and athlete is for the ‘Bockers, lifelong diehard Timothee Chalamet took in the confetti and champagne from the visiting locker room, but he made it onto our radar for his sartorial choices beforehand.
It may not have been as star-studded from wall-to-wall as it is in the Garden, but celebrity row still showed out for New York at Frost Bank Arena. The Dune star donned a white colorway of bespoke Bapestas courtside, with a proud blue star logo cutting across an away-style patent leather body. In the days after securing the title, his set was fully revealed; Kevin Le, Brand Partnerships Manager at A Bathing Ape, revealed that rather than a custom job, these were specifically made for the Oscar nominee. An inverted black flip on the same style, perhaps tabbed for a potential Game 6, was also revealed. We’re positive that we and Timothee are in agreement; we’d trade the Game 5 clincher for the lack of on-court airtime for that second colorway every time.
Expect both of these “Knicks” Bape Sta colorways to remain exclusive to Timothee Chalamet. However, in lieu of getting an F&F invoice, you can catch on-court and in-hand showcases below.
