Andrew Rizzo The adidas Climacool appears to be charting a new path forward in 2026. adidas, which had previously touted the model’s one-piece construction as a key selling point, is now dropping that motto with a new version featuring its own independent outsole, shown here via official images.
Here we have the adidas Climacool Laced in “Off-White/Metallic Gold/Black,” with the Laced already offering more than one piece due to its added tongue and lacing system. The most notable change is at the bottom, where a closed-off black outsole replaces the open construction of earlier releases. That open sole was, personally speaking, one of the better features of the original, allowing a fresh gust of air to hit the bottom of the foot with each step. The reason for the switch-up is currently unknown, though its possible customer feedback may have played a role.
The adidas Climacool Laced “Off-White/Metallic Gold/Black” releases July 1st for $170 via adidas and select retailers, up from $160. It’s currently unclear whether this version will replace or supplement the earlier model, but we’re hoping it’s the latter.
