Matt Varga The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 occupies interesting territory for the sportswear giant. Not quite a running shoe, yet not far enough removed from the cross-training world; not from the halcyon ’90s Air Max class, but arriving just before a totemic retro like the Vomero 5.
Whether it’s a case of aiming at the cyclical nature of fashion a bit too late or a bit too early, the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 hasn’t become a breakaway success in the way that some of its brought-back peers have, but judging by a steady set of new colorways, clearly it’s speaking to some subset of consumers.
