Nike’s 1ICON Air Force 1 Remembers A 2007 Grail

Updated August 20th, 2026: The Air Force 1 “1CON” appears to be inspired by 2007’s Air Force 1 by Mad Hectic. Part of the brand’s global 1LOVE series, this Air Force 1 features an all red/orange colorway covered in exotic skins. The 2026 green pair references that 2007 campaign while adding its own touches.

atmos confirms a Tokyo-only release on August 31st, but it does appear that these will be a global drop. Stay tuned for further release info.

While always a top seller, there’s no denying the Air Force 1 has found new life in 2026, headlined by the return of the ’01 cut, special editions tied to the New York Knicks’ championship run, and plenty of collabs and inline styles playing on nostalgia from the model’s best era in the 2000s. With Air Force 1 Day approaching on 8/2 (for the model’s debut year in 1982), Nike is proclaiming its legendary status with a flashy new LX edition dubbed the “Icon,” shown here via official images.

Nike’s official color specs reveal a slimy palette of “Green Apple/Chlorophyll/Green Apple,” anchored by a shiny leather foundation and semi-opaque midsoles. Ostrich skin leather makes an immediate premium statement on the Swoosh and backtab, bolstered by bronze metal eyelets and a matching lace dubrae with an antique, chipped-away finish, a throughline to the model’s 44-year legacy. The “Icon” name presents itself on the lateral side of the heel, Nike drawing from the model’s famous outsole to form the middle two letters. One last special touch lands on the insoles, featuring a green X-ray graphic of the shoe with dangling laces.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low LX “Icon” doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, but all signs point to a drop on or around AF1 Day on August 2nd. See official images below and stay tuned for further updates.

In other Nike news, the Nike Caitlin 1 has emerged in a new yellow and blue colorway.
