The Nike Air Liquid Max Lets Loose A Venomous “Radiant Blue”

For years, the ethos of Air Max innovation was more, more, more. Stretching back to the Air Max 360 for its full-length cushioning and running through more modern chapters like the revival of the Air Max 95‘s “Big Bubble,” the Dynamic Air groundbreaking on the Dn and Dn8, or the curved cutting edge of the Pegasus Premium, Beaverton has sought to put as much of its patented platform on new products as possible.

So despite the fact that the Nike Air Liquid Max has now settled into life in the mainline, no longer the “shiny new toy” in the catalog, we shouldn’t loose sight of how it bucked those expectations. Sure, the same want to push the envelope of Nike Air is evident with individually articulating pods underfoot, but it’s more notable for the outsole spaces unoccupied by Air.

That sole unit means every colorway will carry a futuristic overtone, but those that hem close to the original tree frog inspiration in the upper count doubly so. Following line-heavy experimentations revealed as of late, the Liquid Max indeed returns to that with this “Radiant Blue” edition, functioning as a sensible palette swap on its debut colorways and building off of those neon-tinged editions with new cooling aquatic interplay.

The Nike Air Liquid Max “Radiant Blue” should be coming to retail shelves and Nike.com sometime in the coming weeks. Be ready for the standard $230 retail price.
