By reaching out to their star-studded list of collaborators across the globe in the early stages of the World Cup, the brand pulled that off once again, lining up vaunted names like Virgil Abloh Archive, Jacquemus, Patta, NOCTA, and many more for the single purpose of putting their Cryoshot series on everyone’s front page.
The watch parties have subsided and the countdown to 2030 now begins. Still, the Nike Cryoshot effort marches on undeterred. No doubt, those outside efforts were the red meat for any drop date watchers, yet it’s clear that the beating heart of the converted cleat series is bringing iconic boot designs into the lifestyle lane. Shortly after that series of link-ups, the Cryoshot Mercurial R9, Tiempo 94, and Tiempo Legend issued unassisted versions themselves.
By way of @sneakermarketro, we’re seeing that this will extend even further. The Mercurial Vapor 1 OG Cryoshot, made famous by R9 and later revived on the feet of Vini Jr., brings an attitude-filled metallic silver and volt green colorway to light with the same “frozen” sole below.
