Matt Varga Updated September 4th, 2026: Melitta Baumeister has now officially unveiled the Nike Rift Rocker one of two colorways dropping this Holiday season. While our initial assessment of an oversized rocker sole unit was correct, truly the Rift Rocker is almost entirely alien from the Rift models you might see on shelves. An chunky strap with Melitta Baumeister branding aligns with the new cushioning underfoot, which carries carved-out molidng including a stamped Swoosh. The heels reveal a set of eyes affixed to the rear, another tie back to Baumeister’s surreal trademark.
Again, two colorways (the “Black/Black/White” and the “Yukon Brown/Light Iron Ore”) are expected out before the end of the year. A $220 sticker price is confirmed for either. Keep this page close by for more info as it arrives.
Melitta Baumeister made serious waves with their first Nike collaboration earlier in the year, bringing distressed aesthetics and trademark surrealist imagery to elevate the Vomero Premium and Pegasus Premium into belles of the proverbial resale ball. Through concept Air Max Muses, we already knew that the story would continue to play out, but teaser shots of the Nike Rift Rocker set that in stone.
Fisheye campaign images mean that our initial looks are anything but straightforward, but again, these sorts of off-kilter artistic choices are par for the course with Melitta Baumeister. To our eye, the Rift Rocker makes good on its title with an oversized sole unit fitted with waffle traction, an inversion of the slim-sole hardware that helped the Rift become a trendy choice for in the brand’s womenswear roster. Optical graphics with dot-matrix textures appear on the insole and below the strap.
The Melitta Baumeister x Nike Rift Rocker is currently expected to release sometime before the end of the year in two executions: a “Black/Black/White” and a “Yukon Brown/Light Iron Ore.” Either pair will retail for $220.
