The gears are always turning at New Balance’s Flimby, England factory, but if there’s one season when the “Made in England” line feels especially at home, it’s fall. The annual shift toward browns, tans, and other earth tones dovetails almost perfectly with the traditional British footwear vocabulary the line has increasingly embraced, most notably through the Allerdale and select executions of other heritage models.
This New Balance 991v2 is grandpa-approved in the best possible way. Save for the outsole and interior, nearly the entire shoe is rendered in complementary Walnut and Shitake shades, creating a rich, understated two-tone palette.
