But for those of us homebound as the seasons begin to change, it’s never too early to start plotting ahead for the colder months, once inclement conditions and murky city streets make daily footwear options all the more limited.
New Balance has leaned on GORE-Tex across several of their models, from the 2002R to the 1906R, in keeping their staple shoes weather-ready through the winter. Yet the New Balance 1000 has found a different home base, unleashing Cordura-fitted packs for the past two winters to keep the chunky silhouette in rotation. The same goes as Fall/Winter collections trot on in 2026, here resulting in a “Triple Black” style arrangement and an earthier counterpart, utilizing stacks of tan and beige for seasonal tonality before orange contrast channels allow it to keep a stylish edge.
Again, the New Balance 1000 Cordura should be expected to hit shelves sometime in the back half of this year. A $150 MSRP is likely for both the black and brown pairs depicted below.
