Matt Varga LeBron has been beating back questions of retirement and his future for years. Much as he decries invocations of “Father Time,” if you’re to trust his comments after signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, his NBA mortality was even an outstanding concept for the King after the Lakers fell to the Thunder this past postseason. Off the heels of his “last decision,” the next chapter for LeBron will be appointment viewing all the same, joining a star-studded cast in the City of Brotherly Love. And with those new digs come a new set of kicks, as the future Hall of Famer officially reveals the Nike LeBron 24.
Given we’ve been following his footwear journey for years, the story beats in this unveiling have been somewhat familiar. Initial all-black wear-test versions started cropping up on his socials and those of his inner circle, most recently photographed as James linked up with longtime compatriot and teammate Dwyane Wade. Upping the ante in this open gym photoshoot, we’re now fully able to dissect this new design as he showcases several editions of his upcoming signature.
Understandable given his frame and playing style in his later years, the Nike LeBron series has built a reputation for relying on bulky compositions. Yet even at this late stage in his career and in his signature line, there’s room for innovation. The key hardware feature for the Nike LeBron 24 is new KingKnit, here seen in two different weights across the top and bottom of the upper. In that split, you can make out a returning feature from the LeBron 23, as the Crown shape and silhouette overall remain in place. A new carbon fiber notch aligns with a slimmer overall sole unit, though surely the same tuned-up specs are in tow for Nike’s longest-standing signature athlete.
The unveiling includes a brushed steel colorway, an all-yellow, a rosy pink, and what appears to be a Chinese New Year style. The blue pair seen front and center is the Nike LeBron 24 “Shooting Star,” a potential launch colorway set to release November 17th, 2026 in both adult ($200) and grade school sizes ($175).
