The “dog ate my homework” routine is the oldest trick in the book. The “dog ate my shoes” incident is one you’ll see nearly every day on social media feeds, message boards, and anywhere sneakerheads can post photos. If dulling your pup’s hunger for inanimate objects doesn’t work with chew toys nor sneakers, Nike is hoping representing both will be enough for you or man’s best friend.
The Nike Tennis Classic “Chew Dog” pack is an homage to each of those principal players, obviously representing the sporting equipment by adapting the flaming tennis ball logo made famous by the Challenge Court. Seen on the tongue, that branding appears true-to-life on a black colorway and in orange on its counterpart. Paw print stamps on the heel of either really get to the heart of this capsule, dressing the part of the canine concept with Dalmatian print and all-black pony hair.
This continues a tacit resurgence for the Nike Tennis Classic, often taking to these sort of high concept looks in its 2026 drops. The “Chew Dog” pack follows throwback terry cloth editions and snakeskin watch band editions that helped push beyond the typical bounds of the simplistic silhouette.
The Nike Tennis Classic should be coming to shelves sooner than later, likely commanding a slight premium on its usual $105 retail price.
