About a year after the Nike Kobe 6 “Dodgers” became one of the more successful releases under the Kobe Bryant name in 2025, the Swoosh is turning that single-game success into a doubleheader. The Nike Kobe 5 “Dodgers,” of course, keeps the baseball theming centered on this follow-up, notably keeping the blue-forward colorway, though some subtle tweaks are in order to keep the energy up.
Indeed, additional cerulean treatments on the midsole and a metallic silver Swoosh help distinguish 2026’s pair from its predecessor if the model itself didn’t create enough separation in the first place. Alternating #8 and #24 patches on the tongues allude to how Bryant’s connection with the Dodgers, developed through first pitches and A-list ticket treatment, lasted throughout the entirety of his tenure as a Los Angeles icon.
Finally, those who checked in with us for last year’s release will know that Nike went the distance with the baseball connection around the 2025 shoes; actual performance gear including catchers’ gear and gloves dropped in a sprawling accompanying capsule. For this, their touch is a bit lighter; two tees in blue and white still spotlight Mamba branding for those looking for an easy head-to-toe fit.
