After minting a relationship on the GEL-Nimbus 10.1, INVINCIBLE is the latest to take it for a spin, introducing a three-headed collab with MADNESS on the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1.
The Hong Kong brand’s foothold in workwear and utilitarian streetwear has been stable since 2014, only assisting the similar aims with INVINCIBLE’s second ASICS project. Though there’s some heady inspirations, as this shoe pulls from urban running and natural exploration with touchstones like dolomite rock, overall this leans in a simplistic, clean direction from a color perspective. Shades of cream collide across the layered construction, but it’s the material choices that really bring this piece to life; ten distinct mediums weave throughout the silhouette.
The INVINCIBLE x Madness x ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 drops globally via an online raffle, open from midnight EST on August 18th to midnight EST on August 20th. An in-person launch at INVINCIBLE locations in Asia follows on August 23rd before a final global launch takes place on August 29th at ASICS channels and partnering retailers.
