The Nike Air Alarm Is Returning Fall 2027

Nike’s excavation of its 1990s performance archive is getting deeper in 2027. The Nike Air Alarm from 1995 is set to return during Fall 2027, marking the first-ever retro release of the aggressive mid-’90s performance tennis model.

Originally designed for the sport of tennis, the Air Alarm became closely associated with Andre Agassi, fitting perfectly within the unapologetically bold Nike Tennis aesthetic of the era. But the shoe wasn’t confined to the court; Gary Payton also famously wore the Air Alarm for basketball, giving the model an interesting crossover history between two sports.

Visually, there was no mistaking the Air Alarm for something understated. The mid/high-top silhouette featured an extremely aggressive, almost armored appearance, made particularly memorable through its white, black, and bright green colorway. It was also designed by long-time Nike designer Wilson Smith who was behind some of the most recognizable Nike shoes of all-time, including Scottie Pippen’s Nike Air More Uptempo.

The Air Alarm was also close to a retro release in 2015, but that was ultimately scrapped.
