Andrew Rizzo The Nike Air Force 1 has served as a favorite canvas for off-court player exclusives for decades, a tradition that continues today with the likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Ja Morant, and others putting their own spin on the model. The latest example is an understated two-pair pack that appears to be connected to a WNBA star, with Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty emerging as the most likely candidate.
At first glance, the two Air Force 1 Lows are about as familiar as they come, arriving in “Cacao Wow” and “Sail/Light Bone” with suede uppers that wouldn’t look out of place among the countless AF1s already lining retail shelves. The giveaway is tucked inside the tongue. The “Cacao Wow” pair carries messaging centered on being “Calm Under Pressure,” while the “Sail/Light Bone” edition speaks to “Clarity of Mind,” suggesting a deliberate connection to an athlete whose game demands both.
The copy points toward Ionescu, particularly her high-pressure performance during the 2024 WNBA Finals. The connection would of course make sense within Nike’s broader Basketball lineup as Ionescu already has her own signature model. For now, though, the association remains unconfirmed, and we’ll have to wait for Nike to make the connection official.
