Easy Otabor and his Infinite Archives got serious burn in the “Sneaker of the Year” conversation in 2025 by virtue of their Air Jordan 17 collaboration. On top of helping whet the palate for further exploration of the AJ17, it introduced a longtime affiliate of some vaunted partners into the Beaverton canon; Travis Scott, Virgil Abloh, and Don C are just some of the folks associated with Otabor throughout the years.

In the lead-up to the eventually released Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17, Easy shared a few vibrant counterparts to the “Beach” colorway. In the moment, it muddied the water on exactly what to expect, but perhaps we were asking the wrong question. Instead of what, it was only a matter of when. Now, reports are surfacing that the Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 is back on the menu for Spring 2027, visiting those exact “Varsity Purple” and “Varsity Red” colorways as public releases. Though it’s impossible to fully verify that these ’27 versions are exactly aligned with what Otabor previewed, color codes of “Sail/Metallic Silver/Varsity Purple” and “Sail/Metallic Silver/Varsity Red” are strong indications to the positive.

Again, the Infinite Archives x Air Jordan 17 “Varsity Purple” and “Varsity Red” are currently expected to drop Spring 2027, retailing for $225 a piece.
