Andrew Rizzo The wonderfully obscure Nike Air Max Dolce continues its retro run with a reachback to 2002, ressurecting the model’s original “Black/Black/Sport Red” women’s colorway for the modern day.
The significance of an original colorway doesn’t carry the same weight on obscure deep cuts like the Air Max Dolce as it does on, say, Jordan retros, and this particular look is pretty tame all things considered. Still, there’s surely a population of collectors out there that’s been waiting on these.

In line with the 2002 edition (as pictured above), the Dolce here takes up an almost all-black palette befitting the model’s intention as something of a sporty formal loafer hybrid. That dressed-up idea is amplified within the Air bubble and outsole, where Sport Red accents create a quasi-Christian Louboutin connection, albeit more tongue in cheek than actual.
