Move over, Westside Gunn. Yes, the Buffalo native notched one of the brand’s biggest secondary market successes in recent memory with his “Awesome God” collaboration, yet the Boston brand’s designers are aiming to prove that it’s not their first rodeo, either. Following that heavily animalistic link-up, Saucony is unveiling an inline counterpart, the “Space Cowboy” collection.
Understandable given the category’s cachet in the lifestyle lane, a real chunk of this offering focuses on the throwback runner category. The Saucony Progrid V2, notable for a forefoot overlay that reaches into the midsole, flexes tan leathers and cow fur collars. The ProGrid Triumph 4, a silhouette that fans of Minted NY or Jae Tips should recognize, is more forthcoming with the “Space” aspect. Chrome runs throughout its design, shimmering across the overlays and Three Rivers logo, before placing a double-dose of fur towards the rear and on the toebox.
Rounding out the streetstyle aspect is the Saucony 58i, recently utilized as a debut style for the SILO initiative, which leans into exposed contrast stitching and a tasseled tongue to echo spurs and debossed boots. Finally, for those intent on turning run club into runway, the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 and Endorphin Azura meet contrasting white/black executions with brown and tans sprinkled in the spaces between.
