Andrew Rizzo They’re here and they’re beautiful. After months of teasers, Kader Sylla’s first signature skate shoe, the adidas Kader, has been officially unveiled in all its glory, a striking retro-inspired mid-top that feels wonderfully new and old at the same time.
Calling out a skater’s attitude as a selling point is something that’s been shoved down consumers’ throats time and again, but Kader truly sits right in the sweet spot on the “Jackass” to technical master spectrum, a phenomenally quick learner who cut his teeth under the tutelage of Andrew Reynolds’ Baker Skateboards. The personality part largely comes from Kader entering the spotlight at such a young age, arriving with a devil-may-care attitude that’s endeared him to fans and sponsors alike (including Supreme). Needless to say, fans have been clamoring for a signature shoe for a while. Kader first signed to Vans in 2018 before hopping over for a quick stint at Nike SB. He landed at adidas Skateboarding in 2021 and has stayed put since, releasing several ADV models to much acclaim. Now he’s moving up a level.
At the risk of sounding too glazy, his first signature model is a damn masterpiece. The adidas Kader pulls from the Three Stripes’ basketball archive and the chunky skate shoes that defined the 2000s, pairing a mid-top build with a handful of genuinely clever branding details. Rather than lean on adidas’ timeless but, let’s face it, increasingly ubiquitous Three Stripes, the Kader establishes an identity of its own, its panels effectively forming a capital “E” on both sides and each end finished with its own additional material hit. As for the performance, the Kader comes with a Lightmotion midsole for impact response, elasticated tongue wings for containment, and a durable rubber cupsole.
The adidas Kader has been unveiled in two colorways, one in black with purple stripes and another in brown with yellow snakeskin hits. The purple colorway is expected to release October 16th, 2026 at an early launch event in Los Angeles, the last leg of a larger North America tour. A wider drop via adidas.com and skate shops is expected to follow in 2027.
