Matt Varga New Balance has made headlines with plenty of partners this year; your Ronnie Fieg’s, your Action Bronson’s, your Amine’s. Yet there’s little doubt about which of their collaborators has the most crossover potential. The Miu Miu x New Balance link has become a stop-the-presses sort of event for the general fashion public, helping push the minimalist sneaker wave to lookbooks everywhere with their 530 SL. As Paris Fashion Week SS27 rages on, Miu Miu is turning to the archival New Balance RC150 for their next arc.
Though obviously sharing the “RC” naming convention with Aime Leon Dore’s invention, the RC150 is an archival bring-back rather than a wholly new design. Experiencing its earnest market run in the ’90s, the silhouette takes its name from an ultra-light 150-gram construction, initially tooled for wear on the track as a racing flat.

Interestingly, Miu Miu sticks rather close to the original New Balance RC150 layout in this runway revival; the exposed grid-like stitching remains in place, as does the minimalistic tech package. The big innovation is a set of external metal loops at the toe, allowing for a fresh take on the double-lacing system that the label has become so famous for. In this first look at the silhouette, there’s truly a wealth of colorway options on display; blue-on-white, yellow-on-blue, yellow-on-green, brown-on-white, tan-on-black, and a sporty orange are the ones we were able to spot.
The Miu Miu x New Balance RC150 is expected to drop in women’s sizing for Spring/Summer 2027. Retail pricing hasn’t been announced just yet.
