Matt Varga “Knick fans, this is not a dream! Your long, long wait has ended! Go ahead and cry!” Mike Breen’s call of the Knicks’ first championship in 53 years was everything that the blue and orange’s faithful could’ve possibly hoped for, surely a moment that the ESPN/MSG announcer had contemplated over and over again in his decades covering the team. The only thing that could’ve possibly made it sweeter would’ve been having Walt Frazier alongside him in the booth, one of the architects of the Knicks’ previous title in 1973. Clyde was already plenty effusive in his praise for Jalen Brunson and co. as the confetti rained down, but as the franchise’s quest to go back-to-back begins in earnest, PUMA is bringing him back to the fore once again with a highly limited championship colorway of his signature shoe.
As alluded to in our title, beyond the sentimental aspect behind bridging the team’s last gilded era and this current one, the PUMA Clyde “Ceremony” is extra special for being a highly limited affair. Kitted with golden trim, including three Larry O’Brien trophies on the tongue and plenty of blue and orange tonality, it’s the clear highlight of this capsule, but isn’t the only thing on offer. Additionally, PUMA is dropping a version of the PUMA Majesty to match, a bit more simplistic in its arrangement but still carrying a proud “NYC” stamp front-and-center. Finally, a corresponding graphic tee will also be on offer.
You will only be able to grab this PUMA Clyde/Majesty “Ceremony Pack” on October 14th at Foot Locker 125th Street. Again, only 53 pairs of the Clyde will be up for grabs; the Majesty and Tee will be a bit more generally available, yet still exclusive nonetheless. Catch campaign images below.
