Andrew Rizzo All things considered, the New Balance 1890 has fared pretty well as a near $200 sneaker at a time when people are being really cost-conscious with their footwear. Most of the model’s solid profile has to do with collabs, the 1890 getting a serious push from names like Action Bronson, Joe Freshgoods, and JJJJound, though the general release wire has been nothing to scoff at either. Next in line is a striking “Metallic Blue” makeup for Fall/Winter 2026, shown here via detailed images.
Fully leaning into the retrofuturistic aesthetic that inspired the hybrid model to begin with, the Boston brand checks in with brushed blue metallics on the forefoot layering and a nice silver around the heel. The mesh upper and top portion of the midsole both take a darker navy, while the ABZORB cushioning returns to the lighter, more metallic tint.
