Continuing its efforts to expand MJ’s legacy beyond the hardwood, Jordan Brand is also dropping an Air Jordan 11 MCS baseball cleat featuring the same iridescent finish seen on the “Magic Ball” 11s, and it’s a beauty.
A potential option for Jordan Brand athletes Mookie Betts and William Contreras as they continue their postseason runs, the cleat stuns with an iridescent matte finish taken entirely in purple Lapis coloring. The special touches are subtle yet meaningful, anchored by TPU Jumpman logos, Space Jam 30th anniversary branding on the insoles, and “Jumpman Jam” text on the tongue ribboning. Underfoot, baseball spikes replace the model’s usual setup.
These land at an especially fun time for Jordan baseball cleats, with the Jumpman having reimagined the 11, 1, 3, and more for the diamond in recent years to much acclaim. Anyone who’s actually seen “Space Jam” can attest that the baseball connection is a fitting one, too. A major part of the movie centers on Michael Jordan’s stint with the Birmingham Barons, the Chicago White Sox’s minor league affiliate he played for while pursuing baseball.
