The Nike 24.7 Boot Is A Yeezy-Meets-Uggs Hybrid

Don't let the elements slow down your recovery.

The Nike 24.7 Boot Is A Yeezy-Meets-Uggs Hybrid

Nike’s reorientation around sport, or in its terms, a “sport offense,” has led to reverberations throughout the catalog. Of course, it’s led to performance-minded steps forward like the new Nike Apex and lifestyle crossovers like the Cryoshot, but plenty of casual wear in its catalog currently carries the echoes of the field of play. Look to the Nike Mind 001, now dominant as an athlete choice to get from point A to point B, buoyed by both aesthetics and a neuroscience-focused marketing strategy.

That recovery lane has been extremely fertile ground for Beaverton in the past year and change, from the Hyperice Slide to the 24.7 sneaker, the latter a cost-conscious everyday option intended not for days in the gym, but for your rest days. Unexpectedly, the silhouette is now gaining a sibling: the Nike 24.7 Boot. Of course, we’ve got to start with the actual look of the model, already spawning a ton of Yeezy comps for the ruffled, molded back collar that calls up Kanye West’s second signature design. Yet with smooth suede materiality, the work of longtime bootmaker Ugg is equally a comparison point.

Under the hood, the bumped traction underfoot, shared with the 24.7 sneaker, is clearly intended to remind the consumer of the Mind without bearing the full experience of it. Surely, the reduced price that comes with utilizing “takedown” tech should help make up some of that ground. It’s very likely that the textured rear half of this shoe is included to make this an “EasyOn” proposition: tech that was first posited as an accommodation for those with disabilities, but has since spread throughout the catalog to make for seamless on/off experiences.

The Nike 24.7 Boot has already appeared on global Nike channels, with a stateside release currently unconfirmed. Expect a $160 retail price for adult pairs upon arrival.
