Take a team-friendly contract and get paid in glory and brand deals: for the New York Knicks, that’s the sales pitch. The team’s historic NBA Championship win has every brand wanting in on the action, from Nike’s continued focus on Jalen Brunson down to smaller up and coming labels like OG Anunoby with Skechers and Jose Alvarado with AND1. Now it’s time for Eastern Conference Finals menace Landry Shamet to collect, announced today as the latest NBA athlete to sign with Chinese basketball brand Serious Player Only.
For Serious Player Only, whose reputation in hooper circles lives up to its name by most accounts, this is the brand’s biggest NBA get to date, Shamet joining a budding roster that also includes G Leaguers Lester Quinones and Jonathan Mogbo. Founded in 2022, Serious Player Only has made waves thanks to its modular drop-in midsole systems, lightweight build quality, solid traction, and guard-oriented performance akin to the most popular Nike Kobes.
Shamet went from almost being out of the NBA to playing a key role for the Knicks during their Finals run. The shooting specialist hit 91.7% (11-of-12) from three-point range during the 2026 Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, setting an NBA record for the highest three-point percentage in a single postseason series. The Knicks rewarded the performance with a four-year contract this offseason, securing a key piece off the bench for the foreseeable future. Serious Player Only, meanwhile, gets to showcase its product on the biggest stage in basketball, a huge get that will keep paying dividends with more strong performances.
Shamet plays his first game as a Serious Player Only athlete tomorrow when the Knicks take on LeBron and the 76ers at Madison Square Garden, the same night they raise the banner and hand out championship rings. See pics of Landry in his new Serious Player Only digs below.
