The latest addition to the 2027 Jordan releases calendar is obscure to the power of two, bringing an unconventional twist to one of the wackiest models in the entire Air Jordan lineage.
Sneaker Files and zSneakerHeadz report that an Air Jordan 15 SP “Cosmic Clay” is in the works for Fall 2027, shown above and below via speculative mockups. The news comes as Jordan Brand continues to concentrate on models at the end of and beyond the Bulls-era 1 through 14 run, a strategy no doubt intended to reset the market after years of oversaturation for icons like the 1, 3, 4, and 5.
Originally released in 1999, the Air Jordan 15 was the first Jordan shoe MJ never wore in an NBA game. For that reason, as well as the fact that it looks rather awkward with its pointed tongue and sharp angles, it’s regarded as one of the weaker models of its era, certainly behind its successors in the Jordan 16 and Jordan 17.
While still yet to emerge in any official capacity, mockups of the “Cosmic Clay” 15s point to a woven upper construction featuring multicolor squares a la the Nike Footscape Woven and its various rainbow colorways. We’re currently living through a time where what’s weird is what’s hot. Whether that appeal can extend to this shoe remains to be seen, but it’s certainly not too difficult to understand the thinking here.
The Air Jordan 15 SP “Cosmic Clay” lands Fall 2027, meaning sometime between next July and September. Check out speculative mockups below and stay tuned for further updates.
