Kids Of Immigrants Is Dropping A Nike Tiempo Collab

Collaborations are best when there’s a story to be told, even when you’ve got to read between the lines and find the story in the collab’s existence itself. It’s for that reason that Kids Of Immigrants (KOI) stands out as one of Nike’s most exciting partnerships going at the moment, a reputation earned through community empowerment, immigrant heritage, and deeply inspired projects that champion cultural intersections relevant to the brand and its founders. Following a surprisingly good Total 90 Mule earlier this year, Daniel Buezo and co. are back at it again, this time diving further into “the beautiful game” with a collab on Nike’s iconic Tiempo line.

Unveiled on the feet of Brazilian soccer star Matheus Cunha, the KOI x Nike Tiempo Maestro Elite FG SE draws from the mountainous topography of Honduras and Liberia, the homelands of KOI founders Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis. While standard versions feature horizontal ripples running front to back, KOI’s take opts instead for a new upper mold with lines jutting out from the midfoot like sunrays. The color choice fits seamlessly, the cleat going with a full Sundial gradient that fades from yellow up top into red around the toe and heel. The outsole, inner lining, and midfoot are done in black, the latter featuring shrunken down red Swooshes. For a brand rooted in global connections, staying within the sport that does the same can be a promising lane for creative projects. Bravo.

No release date for the Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Tiempo Maestro Elite FG SE has been announced yet, though we suspect word could come down soon given Cunha’s recent unveiling. Retail is set at $275 regardless. Check out detailed images below and stay tuned for further updates.
