The 2026 NBA offseason brought some seismic changes to the league, with LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Ja Morant all finding new homes. For Nike Basketball, that meant three of its biggest signature athletes entering the season in unfamiliar uniforms, presenting a unique opportunity to introduce them to their new cities.
Nike is celebrating each arrival with a series of city-specific activations that connect basketball and local culture to welcome their newest stars. Here’s how it went down.
LeBron James Arrives In Philadelphia
LeBron is now with his fourth team, joining Philly on a vet-min to “help Joel Embiid” win a championship. Nike is welcoming the all-time leading scorer to Philadelphia with a basketball-focused retail pop-up that celebrates the city’s creative community. Located at 901 Market East, the space features early access to the LeBron 24 that includes Philadelphia-exclusive colorways alongside apparel and other footwear from his signature line.

Philadelphia artist Art Bully contributed to the pop-up’s merchandise, which includes shirts, jackets, and locally inspired products. Nike also enlisted Philadelphia-born artist Chuck Styles to create a LeBron James mural at The Garage, located at 100 E. Girard Avenue.
Following an October 20th preview event, the pop-up opens to the public on October 21st and 22nd from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Ja Morant Takes Over Portland’s White Stag Sign

For Ja Morant’s arrival in Portland, Nike is taking over one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
The iconic White Stag sign, a fixture of the Portland skyline, has been transformed into a brightly illuminated tribute to the newest member of the Trail Blazers and Nike Basketball’s most potent signature athlete. The activation plays on Morant’s explosive playing style and the resilience associated with Portland’s basketball culture.
The installation will remain illuminated through November 7th, giving the city a highly visible reminder of its newest star.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Connects With Miami’s Next Generation

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s introduction to Miami takes a more grassroots approach, with Nike focusing its efforts on local high school basketball players.
A specially branded sprinter van, accompanied by content creator Lucie Castagne, will visit Miami High School, Florida Christian School, and Riviera Prep to distribute pairs of the Nike Freak 8 and custom T-shirts.
Students at Riviera Prep will also receive a surprise invitation to the Miami Heat’s opening-night game, followed by an opportunity to meet Giannis and the team for a postgame photo.
