Everyone knows Vans for skateboarding. Far fewer know the brand for BMX, but perhaps more should. The SoCal footwear staple has been a player in the motocross scene for nearly half a century, maintaining a roster of sponsored riders while developing footwear built to withstand life on the pedals.
Coco Zurita, a professional BMX rider for 28 years and Vans athlete for just as long, has today unveiled a one-of-a-kind partnership with Acura, delivering both a sneaker and a bespoke 2026 Acura ADX “CZ-77 Concept” inspired by the kicks.
First, the footwear. The project puts a black-and-white checkerboard treatment on the Vans Authentic, complete with an inside-out tag on the lateral side, “Off The Wall” branding across the back half of the sidewall, and translucent outsoles revealing even more checkerboard underneath. The biggest transformation comes to the bumper, which is stretched outward along the sides in the shape of a lightning bolt.
As for the car, the 2026 Acura ADX “CZ-77 Concept” is loaded with racing-inspired upgrades, including fabric supplied by Vans that the brand uses in its high-performance skate and BMX footwear. Custom carbon-fiber aero components, widened fender flares, and 19-inch Rotiform wheels with aero discs give the compact SUV a decidedly more aggressive stance, while a purpose-built rear structure was designed to securely hold and display Coco’s BMX bike. Inside, the Vans influence continues with Sparco bucket seats, custom upholstery, and graphics derived from the Vans x Coco Zurita shoe campaign.
The car will be on display at Vans headquarters in Costa Mesa on Saturday, October 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM local time. The shoes will be available tomorrow via Vans.com. See pics of both below if we’ve piqued your interest.
