Sneaker News Devin Booker’s Nike Book 2 is heading into new territory with a new colorway that we’re dubbing the “Moon Landing,” a nod to one of the more memorable Air Max 90 releases of the past.
The latest look at Booker’s second signature shoe reveals an all-over graphic depicting the surface of the moon, extending the lunar landscape across the interior and midsole to create a nearly uninterrupted presentation of craters, shadows, and rocky terrain. The monochromatic design that makes the shoe look as though it was carved directly from the moon’s surface mirrors the Air Max 90 “Moon Landing,” a release that used detailed lunar imagery to transform the classic running silhouette into something otherworldly.
While there’s no indication that the Book 2 is an official tribute to that earlier release, the visual similarities make the comparison an obvious one while also repeating a tendency of looking towards past releases. However, there’s likely a deeper story behind the design as most of the Book 2 colorways have shown.
At this stage, the Nike Book 2 “Moon Landing” has not been confirmed for a retail release. Additional details regarding availability and pricing have yet to be announced.
