The Reebok Question Mid, arguably the most celebrated sneaker in Iverson’s signature footwear catalog, is receiving a modern performance overhaul dubbed the “Recoded,” arriving November 10th in two colorways.
Originally introduced in 1996 during Iverson’s rookie season, the Question was effectively his first signature shoe, preceding the Answer 1 that officially established his signature line. Its distinctive pearlized leather toe, hexagonal cushioning pods, and mid-cut silhouette was an instant hit off the court, synonymous with Iverson’s electrifying arrival in the NBA. Three decades later, the Question remains the defining sneaker of his Reebok legacy, transcending basketball to become a fixture in sneaker culture.
For this milestone bring-back, Reebok has reengineered the Question Mid for modern basketball. The Recoded features a redesigned version of the original outsole traction pattern, a lightweight Super Critical Foam cushioning pod, and a midsole stability plate for improved control, meaning the Question is suitable for performance wear while being far more comfortable for casual wear.
Two colorways will introduce the Recoded: the original “Red Toe,” complete with its signature pearlized finish, and a new “30th Anniversary Green” edition symbolizing renewal and new beginnings. Rising Reebok athlete Tounde Yessoufou has already debuted the updated Red Toe on the court.
In 2016, Reebok previously celebrated the Question’s major anniversary with an extensive assortment of retro colorways and collaborations. The Recoded for 2026 and beyond could signal an equally ambitious chapter for the silhouette as it enters its fourth decade.
The Reebok Question Mid Recoded launches November 10th through Reebok and exclusively at Foot Locker, with both brands hosting an immersive Philadelphia activation honoring Iverson and the shoe’s legacy.
