Matt Varga We’re officially in a new era for Nike’s “Greater Than” family. The Nike GT Uptempo, GT Flight, and GT Force represent an effort from the Swoosh to connect its celebrated inline series to its historic hoops efforts, ostensibly leaving behind the Jump/Hustle/Cut designation that’s defined the group to begin the decade. Already, the Nike GT Force has shown the most versatility, offering first looks at both high-cut and low-cut variations. Our understanding of the color options it’ll arrive in beyond the “Triple Black” is now getting deeper as well, as the Nike GT Force shows off a flooded “Arctic Punch” pink.
Beyond three new silhouettes joining the Nike hoops family, this reorientation comes with more narrow focuses for each of its members. The GT Force is focused on “Explosive Power,” a mission also shared by the signature shoes of A’ja Wilson and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The composition notes, including a translucent rubber toe and perforations on the side, present as interpretations of old-school maximalist hoop shoes, almost in the same way that modern numbered Jordan models look back on the Retros that came before them.
This “Arctic Punch” variation breaks away from the aggressive hardware notes of the silhouette as a whole with more delicate tonality, toggling between adjacent rosy shades throughout, including a shimmering jewel Swoosh just below the collar. And of course, these are built to perform as well, carrying ZoomX 3.0 Foam along with their “synthetic armor” upper.
Expect the Nike GT Force in this “Arctic Punch” pink to hit shelves come Spring/Summer 2027 as the novel basketball proposition begins its journey. Retail pricing is currently unknown.
