Nike just paired one of its coolest recent apparel innovations with its most iconic running franchise. Nike Radical AirFlow, a technology thus far used on performance running tops and accessories to maximize breathability via strategically engineered holes, makes its footwear debut on both the Pegasus Plus 2 and ACG Pegasus Trail, unveiled at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai.
Radical AirFlow is an engineered knit featuring built-in air ducts that capture, accelerate, and funnel airflow toward the skin to enhance sweat evaporation and keep athletes cool during intense activity. It looks every bit as futuristic and unique as the thinking required to get there, something like a loosely stitched sweater but with groundbreaking performance behind it.
Radical is indeed the best way to describe the shoes. Both models get an upper made from Radical AirFlow fabric, bringing that same fast cooldown to the foot. We do have to assume Nike did something to help fend off water and the like, surely at least on the ACG Pegasus Trail in order to live up to the sub-brand’s standards.
We’re expecting to see a slew of new innovations from Nike as the Beaverton brand gears up for its investor day later this month, and this is a promising start. The Radical AirFlow Pegasus Plus 2 and ACG Pegasus Trail are both expected to release in 2027, though no hard info has been announced just yet. For now, take a detailed look below.
