To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the adidas NMD, the Three Stripes has been remixing some of its most iconic arrangements, such as modeling a new NMD R1 Primeknit after the famous OG NMD R1. Aside from remastering the classics for celebratory purposes, adidas is also testing new waters as they continue to devise offerings for the Boost-cushioned model. A pastel purple pair will be joining the roster of new, inventive colorways just ahead of Easter.
Primeknit uppers bear a Light Purple shade that is also used on the side stripes, heel tab, and eyestays. Thus, differences in materials and textures help to create contrast among these monochromatic elements. While the Boost foam sole is in its customary white shade, gradient midsole plugs found on both the lateral and medial sides add a unique touch to the design. The white-to-purple transition is also exhibited by a Superstar to be released on the same day, as part of a color-fade pack. A white label tag with Light Purple branded text down the heel completes the spring-ready look.
Get a closer look at the NMD R1 below as you sit tight for a release on adidas.com on March 15th for $140.
