Stone Island And New Balance Officially Announce Collaboration; Releases To Arrive Later This Year

When they say “March comes in like a lion,” they must have been referring to the sneakers. In just the past few weeks, a number of partnerships have boiled to the surface, many teased to better build up hype for their forthcoming release. The latest to hit our inboxes comes by way of New Balance, whose collaborative family is due to grow by yet another iconic name: Stone Island.

Brought to life by Massimo Osti — who also led the equally influential CP Company — Stone Island is, in few words, iconic. Experimental in their product design, the label often pushes the envelope in construction, fabric, and dye. This approach will likely define their forthcoming collaborations with New Balance, which will span many years down the road. It’s also mentioned that these releases will roll out in multiple waves, “transcending current trends” in a way that leverages the two brands’ shared values.

“Our collaboration with Stone Island is not only rooted in performance innovation, but elevating our mutual values of premium craftsmanship and superior product quality,” said Chris Davis, Chief Marketing Officer at New Balance. “We look forward to pushing the boundaries and experimenting with design.”

For now, sit tight. As the release is due to arrive before the end of the year, we’ll soon see both images and a solid release date.
