With Summer just around the corner, there’s likely only one thing ASICS is looking forward to with bated breath: the Tokyo Olympics. And to better celebrate the occasion, the Japanese footwear brand is dressing their beloved GEL-Lyte III in silver and gold.
Setting its sights high — directly towards the winner’s podium — the silhouette effectively mirrors the 1st and 2nd place medals. The latter, cast in silver, makes use of polished leather overlays and a glistening nylon base, both fixtures easily taken with its finish of choice. See-through stripes and white-threaded branding dress atop, while white midsoles and laces round off the construction elsewhere. Opposite, the gold alternate follows many of the same steps, though it balances its darker hues with numerous black accents.
For a closer look at the two, see the images below. A release is currently set to land overseas on May 21st. A US launch is likely to follow.
In other news, three JJJJound Vans Sk8-Mids are coming this year.
