DTLR Pays Homage To Washington, D.C. With Their New Balance 992 “Discover & Celebrate”

Together, DTLR and New Balance have told many a unique story — some inspired by Greek gods, others American muscle cars. But today, they’ve opted to tone things down quite a bit as they honor Washington, D.C. with the DC992 “Discover & Celebrate.”

While the Boston-based institution’s DNA is carried by the deep grey suedes and matching mesh, everything else is informed by the capital’s two-toned flag. The latter’s stars and stripes even embed right atop the heel, framed by the aforementioned neutrals as well as matching red accents. Forward, the warm shade makes further appearances along the lace unit, accenting adjacent to blacked out “N” logos, laces, and additional pigskin overlays. Below, the tooling mimics the upper’s palettes to a T, creating a cohesion ostensibly emblematic of the Chocolate City’s wards.

For a closer, detailed look at the collab, see the images below. A release is due to hit DTLR.com and local DTLR/Villa locations on May 28th.

In other news, the Multi-Color New Balance 550 is releasing this Saturday, May 22nd.
