When artist Dan Colen founded Sky High Farm in Ancramdale, NY in 2011, he simply sought out a creative space outside of the major city. Along the way, however, the 30-acre nonprofit farm has become an important part of local communities, with a “love your neighbor, feed your neighbor” ethos developing in the same time.
Recently, Colen’s Sky High Farm Workwear and Converse announced their collaborative Chuck 70. While not too different from what the Boston-based company offers on the regular, the “Black” canvas-covered silhouette features a series of details important to Sky High Farm Workwear’s sole beneficiary: Sky High Farm. Playful graphics land on the lateral heel area, while traditional star logos are replaced with a personality-filled replacement aligned with Sky High Farm – a nonprofit based in New York’s Hudson Valley that is committed to regenerative farming practices and an environmentally holistic, equity-focused approach to promoting food sovereignty. Together, each aforementioned component helps create a stylish set of kicks that also help a great cause.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and find the shoes available via Converse.com on Tuesday, June 28th, for $150 USD.
