Historically, the Air Jordan 14 played an important part in Michael Jordan’s legacy in the world of basketball. Within the world of sneakers, the 12th design by Tinker Hatfield for #23 has largely been overshadowed by other signature shoes prepped for the Chicago Bulls legend.
Recently, official images of the model in a “Ginger” ensemble surfaced, leading countless sneaker enthusiasts to jump for joy as the autumn-friendly outfit was returning for the first time since 1999. Despite returning as a women’s-exclusive and non-low-top, the “Ginger” retro further demonstrates that most options under the “Air Jordan” banner will return at some point. Short-haired suede takes over the pair’s upper, from quarter panel to spine, with the forefoot area donning a “White” arrangement. Most of the branding across the sportscar-inspired design indulges in a “colorless” look that allows for “Ginger”-colored “JORDAN” and “XIV” logos at the top of the tongue and outsole, respectively, to revel in the spotlight. The sneaker’s mid-top trim injects more year-round wearability to the style in comparison to the original from 23 years ago, a move sure to be appreciated by anyone able to fit up to a US Women’s 12.5 size.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch on Wednesday, August 17th, for $200 USD.
