After dominating in the basketball space for multiple decades, Jordan Brand has made it well known over the past few years that they’re prepped and primed for the future of lifestyle silhouettes with DNA infused from its well-documented heritage. With official images of the latest 23 Engineered streetwear model surfacing last Thursday, an official release date has just been set for the Jordan Granville Pro “University Blue” via Social Status.
Disparate from it’s Delta 3 relative, the low-cut model features a medley of creative textiles including cream mesh quarters, grey suede mudguards and overlays with synthetic denim panels gracing the medial mid-foot. In keeping with the namesake of Jordan’s Alma Mater, a deep navy blue heel counter works in tandem with matching pull tabs and “University Blue” accents across the forefoot. Underfoot, full-length 23 Engineered foam is inserted within the slightly aged midsole and finished with a waffle tread.
Accompanying its release, Jordan Brand and Social Status linked up with the Carolina community to aid in the release by way of content creator Kiara Arnold, the owners of Bird Pizzeria in Charlotte and Daniel Baptiste – a self-taught seamster – who are all pictured below.
The “University Blue” rendition of the Jordan Granville Pro will be limited to just 500 pairs for its initial release via Social Status on September 8th before being stocked at in-store locations.
For more under the Jumpman umbrella, a 2000’s Washington Wizards aesthetic is taking hold of the Air Jordan 3.
