The Nike Air Max Plus may be most lauded for its original gradient styles, but Sean McDowell’s design from 1998 continues to favor simpler, but equally-compelling new outfits. Case in point?: A stealthy “Black/Metallic Silver” look.
A fan-favorite in Australia and New Zealand (and boasting a notorious reputation), McDowell’s 24-year-old creation favors a pitch-dark arrangement for its latest look. The upper’s mesh base takes on the monochromatic finish that couples with fuse material – not TPU – via the palm tree-inspired overlays along the profiles. Mesh mudguards house a Flywire-reminiscent speed lacing system that injects a trail racing shoe aesthetic into the original Tuned Air proposition. Lastly, reflective silver swooshes and other accents animate the Air Max offering under the proper lighting conditions.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
