“Move To Zero” has taken a backseat to 2022’s many anniversaries, from the Air Jordan 7’s 30th to the AF1’s 40th. But that doesn’t mean Nike’s sustainable efforts have faltered at all in the past year, as the pinwheel logo — a symbol of the aforementioned initiative — has snuck its way onto many an inline release, including the upcoming women’s Air Force 1 “Gold Suede.”
Despite what its nickname might suggest, this Air Force 1 is near completely bereft of suede materials. Much of the shoe is constructed out of what looks to be a recycled leather, whose unique grain is visible across both the overlays and unders. The adjacent Swoosh and heel tab, in contrast, round out the package in a gilded tone, which complements the adjacent Nike Air branding and dubrae.
