Jovani Hernandez Since the dawn of Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker line, the Swoosh has been commemorating the player’s alma mater. Recently, the Air Jordan 1 Mid surfaced in an all-new “University Blue” makeup.
At quick glance, the retro resembles those of the past, most recently Off-White’s take from 2018. Closer inspection, however, reveals slight differences throughout the upper and sole unit, with the underlays visible at the toe, mid-foot and collar area donning a lighter shade of the titular blue hue. Profile swooshes feature a black trim that compliment the “Air Jordan” logos at the lateral ankle flap. Lastly, the oft-imitated outsole also opts for the vibrant “University Blue” flair, rounding out the UNC-appropriate style.
No firm Nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. While you wait, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
