Following a summer that saw the updated silhouette take on the iconic aesthetics of years past – including a Chapel Hill homage and reconstruction of Bugs Bunny’s Air Jordan 7 “Hare” – the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT has settled on employing inline propositions tooled for the ensuing cooler climate.
Turning the temperature down, cool greys and muted lilacs extend a winterized aesthetic across the upper’s varying constructed panels. Rough suedes harken a main stay through dark grey pre-worn overlays at the forefoot, quarter, heel counter and cut-out Swoosh whereas a smoother nubuck envelops the silhouette’s base layer in a lightened color-match. Initially wrapping the mesh collar in the continuation of the greyscale ensemble, a smoother texture anchors the lavender-hued overlays at the forefoot and collar, coming additionally embossed with a titular “Royal Blue” winged insignia. Extending the latter shade in a seldom finish along the Zoom Air branded tongue tabs and insoles, an aged-cream midsole underfoot and matching laces denote a vintage conclusion to the model tooled for comfort.
