JJJJound has rarely had a chance to catch its breath throughout 2022, racking up collaborative works with the New Balance 990v3, ASICS GEL-Kayano 24 and most recently a duo of adidas Sambas. Following a Shanghai-exclusive release of a minimalist take on the PUMA Suede, the Montreal-based design studio is now returning to the synonymous Rock Steady Crew’s silhouette.
In tandem with its past collaborative works, the recently debuted silhouette provides little to no differentiation from its 1968 composition. Clad in its use of a deep-shaded maroon across the entirety of the suede-dominant upper, a first look at the pair via JJJJound’s Instagram showcases a cream-colored side stripe accenting the monochromatic ensemble. Golden branding denoting the design studio’s hand comes embossed amidst the crisp white heel tab, whereas the entirety of the sole unit underfoot contrasts the heavy use of hues above through an all-white tread.
While we anticipate a release for the pair before the year comes to a close, enjoy a first-look at the upcoming JJJJound x PUMA Suede “Maroon” below in the meantime.
Updated December 20th, 2022: The JJJJound x Puma Suede “Burgundy” is dropping on December 24th at select stores exclusively in China.
